My abstract sumi e “Ruby Mine Inside” is inspired by the Persian poet Hafiz.

“Ruby Mine Inside” by Marilyn Wells, 14″ x 18″ on mulberry paper, $385. Prints available
Don’t die again
with that holy ruby mine
inside
still unclaimed
when you could be swinging
a golden pick with every step.
– Hafiz 1859S-2
You can claim that ruby mind inside yourself if you have the will and yearning, not ultimately giving into despair. That’s not to say suffering and brokenness won’t come. They will, but the way to the ruby mine is through it, not denying it. We are all broken in one or many ways. For each of us, our suffering is as unique as we are unique from anyone else in every way. But there is a path. Keep searching for it and you will find it. You will find the Joy that your inner heart knows and calls you to. The knowledge seems to be born within each of us; most do not search with faith to find it.

Please enjoy many of my paintings on this, my new store site. I’m still tweaking and ironing out mysterious details of Facebook, Instagram and the internet, but it’s wholly there in its infancy. Thanks for taking a peek. 🙂 My abstract sumi e, The “Ruby Mine Inside” You, inspired by the Persian poet Hafiz, is on the site.
marilyn’s art in 5280 Magazine
Denver’s top City magazine, 5280, @5280magazine, is featuring Marilyn Wells in their Holiday Dec2020/Jan2021 issue end piece. Nice article and perk for me! Look for the Designer black over with the elegant green and white interior cover. Some have missed it and bought the wrong version of 5280! It’s still on the endcaps and newsstands. 🙂
Certainly a good message and a strong painting.
Thank you, Elaine. We gain wisdom as we go, don’t we. 🙂
